I wouldn't pass on jury duty- it's your chance to nail some bad guy. Or un-nail a good guy, as the case may be.

When they are interviewing you at the beggening make a bunch of outrageous claims about how you are racist against certain groups etc. I heard they can't use you on the jury if you do

It's random, all you have to have to be called in is a driver's liscense. and yes during the interview just say some weird biased shit and they will not choose you.

Why would you want to miss out on watching some stupid fuck get what's coming to him? Or miss out on letting some virtuous but long-haired guy go free?
And many companies will pay you for jury duty, it's like a vacation day.

They aren't going to do anything bad to you, and if nothing else, it's a fresh look at how the system works. Especially if you've been lucky enough to never have had to face a jury yourself. Think of it like taping the other guys' practice sessions.
But as was said already, it's easy enough to get out of it once summoned- just go down there and fill out the form truthfully. The clerk will take it, blink a few times, and send you on your way. No big.
