Hey folks, turning half of our walk-in closet into a grow room. This will be my first grow and I'm looking for the best suggestions and plant numbers etc. The size i'm working with is 5'(length)x7'(width)x8'(height). I've been talking with Ethnoguy and I may be leaning towards hydro although I would like to do soil as well. I was looking at a 5k CCT bulb for vegging and a 1500-3000 CCT for flowering. Now i'm curious what people suggest will be the most efficient and produce the highest yields. Also, depending on the setup what fans should I be looking at etc.

Last but not least suggested brands for equipment?

Well thats 280 cf. I would go ahead and get a 4" 178CFM (High Output)inline exhaust fan. You can find them at a resonable price. Of course they say the exhaust only needs to pull in the total CF of your grow area in 5 minutes, but I think 178 is fine, and it certainly won't hurt the airflow or heat. I say 4" because it is a standard, and inline because they are not near as loud as some other types (squirel cage).
Me and you have already discussed lighting, and since I only use a 125W CFL in my 72CF closet (jealous of that CF ), others should weigh in.
I still think 2 400w HPS are better than 1 1000w HPS for that kind of space.
GL!
