My two years of hell have ended and i was finally able to upgrade my phone a few days ago. It's really nice not have to ask people to repeat themselves 329032901 times during a phone call, and it's wonderful not having to walk outside to take calls so they don't drop mid conversation. First time in 6 years i've treated myself to a really nice phone instead of getting a plain model that works ok. Even managed to get it 250$ cheaper then the base price as well

nope, it's a dare, i was looking at the voyager but the dare is a much better model. The only thing i really liked about the voyager more was the flip out keyboard, but the touch keyboard on the dare is still nice to use. You just have to be a little more precise about it.
The dare gets better battery life, works better for browsing (which i really don't use anyways), is slimmer, and the camera is about 20x better. I really didn't think i was going to be able to afford it, but with verizon you can really haggle with the price because in the end they want to make the sale and keep up their excellent customer service rep.
Been with verizon since they were bell south, don't have any plans to switch either, and things are so much better now that they've finally moved into my area (which was alltell and cingular country for a long while).

i just recently got the voyager...its a pretty sweet phone

they're pretty easy to use, the only thing that gets a little tricky is txt messaging, but once you get used to the screen it's really easy. I love it, i've been using the camera a lot lately and it takes some amazing pics for a cam phone.

the instincts a sweet phone from what i've read, but fuck sprint IMO.
go to cnet.com and read the cellphone reviews for the phone you want, they're pretty helpful.

IMO the Iphone is overrated, overpriced, and is on probably the second worst network out there. In fact i don't think there's anything the iphone can do that mine can't. It's a status symbol IMO, but, it's not a bad piece of equipment. I don't have anything against the phone, they're definitely fun to use, i just think apple needs to drop the price and get rid of the exclusive contract with at+t.

My Bro got one up here in Canada (with Rogers). Ditched it after 2 weeks.
I never understand why people buy such expenive phones. The most I spent was on a RAZR v3. But that was because I wanted a phone that was slim (I'm a pocket-space enthusiast).
It's just not convenient to browse the web an type emails on the go. And why would you want that shit following you around 24/7. Leave the office at the office I say.

got me, IMO i don't consider 150 bucks all that expensive considering what you get for it. 400$ on the other hand is just flat out outrageous, and at that price i agree with you. However, like my friend said, if it's something that truly does make your life easier and improves the quality of life (lots of business managers really do need email on the go), then the cost is worth it. If you're life depends on being able to be connected 24/7 400$ is a drop in the bucket considering what you might lose if you don't get to an important message in time. But for the casual user, unless you're just one of those idiots who likes to buy the latest phone regardless of the cost for the cool factor, you can find phones that do the same thing for much cheaper. From what i hear apples new 3g iphone has some pretty nasty bugs with it, and the screen and actual case are a little weaker then the previous version. I don't have any personal experience with it, but i have a friend who's parents own the only apple store in town. He's had both versions and said he was happier with the first phone.
The one thing i did find really interesting about the Iphone was the selling point for the medical community. They have some special software that allows doctors access to a wealth of information and allows them to stay connected to their practice at all points in the day. Personally, if i were a patient in a hospital, i'd feel a little more at ease knowing that my doctor would be able to check in on me from anywhere at anytime if he needed too.

The advances are awesome and i tend to be a sucker fo the newest convienience, but at some point i will start accepting the fact that no matter what cool shit they put on a phone..after 3 months of any new phone i ever got ,all ill i will use it for is the occational alarm clock, a glance at the email, or just a plain old phone call.
