Both rooms need intake an dexhaust, tho you may only need exhaust fans and intake holes.  Plants need fresh air just like us humans.
When choosing how much to exhaust plan on at least 2x the cfm of the room.

The only way to not exchange the air in the room is to add CO2, and trust me that will cost more than a couple exhaust fans will.

could you give me a rough comparison in price?

is it hard to get CO2 going right?

i really do not want to cut that house up if at all possible.

Also if it's a CO2 enriched room with no external air exchange then you're going to be needing a dehumidifier and AC unit as well.

I live in a very dry climate. How low do you need to keep the humidity?

As far as setting up CO2, do you have any recommendations on how to seal a part of the room off so I don't waste CO2 on the whole room?
I think I might have no choice but to use CO2. I can't cut holes in the house.

Thanks for the links, Stoneth.

Doesn't matter how dry the climate is if you're not bringing in fresh air

The plants use evapotranspiration as their primary mechanism of nutrient and water transport from their roots. If there's no fresh air intake then the humidity will hit 100% in a matter of days

This whole experience of setting up this house has proven to me that I do not know nearly as much about growing as I thought I did.

I thought if we just put 2 tents in the room and said skip using the closet, it would make our lives easier.

If I have 2 tents standing alone in a room, do I still need fresh air from the outside of the house pumped in to the room if the tents have strong intake/exhaust fans?
The door to the room with the tents init will always remain open and the air conditioning unit to the house seems to pump in a decent amount of filtered air from outside. Still not enough?
I would have to either:
a-get air from ouside
b-seal the room and use CO2
right?

Just vent out the window. You can get window vents for air conditioners that you can blow through without looking sketchy.

Don't worry about intake. Sufficient air will then be sucked in through the cracks (which will prevent smelly leaks too) due to the negative pressure produced.

I tried venting my 250w aeroponic "tent" into a sealed room for a while. In less than 12 hours, the humidity was at 100%. This winter, if I keep growing, I will definitely need a dehumidifier.

As for the veg closet... don't worry so much about the intake and exhaust, unless you have a hot bulb in there. If you're just using fluorescent bulbs in the closet, just put a fan in there and don't completely seal it and it will be fine - moms and clones don't take much. The main thing you want to worry about in the veg closet is light leaks into the the flowering area.

What our plan was up until now was:
Flowering in an 8x4 tent
sealing all points where light may seep in to the tent
having the veg outside of the tent

now you have me thinking about using that closet again.
and we just set up the RO and reservoir in there!

setting up this space is so frustrating.

we ended up buying a portable AC unit and cutting a hole in the ceiling to exhaust in to the attic. and we just cut the hole in the ceiling of the closet!
