My cheap set-up that has sweet yields!

I have spent a wopping total of $325 on my closet grow. It nets me approx 2.5 oz of beatiful buds every 2.5 months. Everything is plug-n-play. Here is what I have:
Hydrofarm 125w CFL w/ reflector. Hooks and chains for light Exhaust fan (56 cfm) Ducting- aluminum flex Hydrofarm flange Fan- 2 speed oscilating Negative Ion Gen- 3 small ones mounted in corners Powerstrip 20 5.5 inch sq tag nursery pots White thick plastic floor cover 1 gal of flat white paint (including roller and tray) White Duck Tape- for cracks, holes, and vent.
I do a closet grow. My closet is 8.5 sq ft/ 72 cf. I hope this helps budget growers. The only thing I would do differently is get a 200w CFL. I also should add that gels are used around the exhaust during flowering and sprays for emergencies. Happy Growing!

Thank you. I am very pleased. My first couple of grows were not as good. It takes some experience along with some good literature (and/or a site like this one).

Acceptable yields there. Upgrade for cheap and they will be even better.

Even just getting a 150HPS can boost your yield significantly.

I totally agree, but my wife will throw a fit lol. I have my MJ, shrooms, cacti, poppies, kratom, blah blah blah.....lol. I will upgrade once I add a veg and cloning shelf. I will move my CFL into that area then.
She is really going to be pissed when she sees this rooted peruvian torch (16 inches with many pups) and penis plant come in the mail. Oh well.

I wish I did have pics, but since I keep spending money on ethnos, I just don't have the cash for a camera. If I get one in the near future, I plan on doing a grow log for my MJ as well as for all of my ethnos.
And yeah, be glad you're not married lol.

dude nice setup (im tryin to picture it in my head) !
so is this a perpetual-type system (clones and whatnot) or do you just grow from seeds with the same light and then adjust the times to flower?
also do you get that much smell? id love to do a closet grow, but im such a noob i dont know how to rid the smell while still getting fresh air in..
keep it up man

I grow from seed. Hopefully within the next year, I will be able to add a veg/cloning and mother plant shelf. At thet point I will probably move the CFL to that area.
Yes, I get some stink. You can't smell it outdoors though. I use odor neutralizing gels (from the Dollar Tree lol) and Neutra Air for emergencies. I burn lots of Nag Champa as well. Its really not that bad until two weeks before harvest.
Pick up Jorge Cervantes' "bible" and Ed Rosenthal's Closet Cultivator (it can be found online for free. Not sure where).

wait, someone told me that gram/watt wasn't unreasonable and you're not even close to that. does that apply to sog only or is it only for hps? i'm sorry, i didn't read the whole thread and i'm a total noob when it comes to growing indoors.

Good to see ya here dumbum39. Thanks, and I am looking forward to the pics. I really wish I had a camera. Words only say so much. Oh well.
maggotz- you can grow a gram per watt, but that takes some experience, and no it can't be done with a CFL. Whether it is a SoG or not shouldn't matter.
