I decided I don't want to trip so fucking hard, last time I did lemon and tea, it was a shroom smaller than this one, and it absolutely blew my top off.
I'm just gonna munch on it fresh, I weighed it and its 18g wet, SO far I've ate the stem and half the cap. I always get nervous, even with these piss ant little amounts.
I'm sure once it comes on I'll be okay though, I always am

Damn, I already feel it. Just starting. So glad I didn't go tea and lemon route, I just knew it was gonna be potent.
Is bruising an indicator of potency? Cuz this shroom was real blue where I cut it.

The bluing reaction happens when psilocin reacts to oxygen causing the psilocin to... yes, more blue=more potent (usually).

Not necessarily.
The cause for blueing in Psilocybe mushrooms is currently not well understood. There are also psilocybin-containing mushroom species that do not blue when disturbed.
A similar blueing reaction occurs in certain species of boletes, which has been found to be from oxidation of gyrocyanin, which is not psychoactive.
