Grow tent time frame

So my plant just sprouted and started second set of leaves.
So my question is when is a grow tent necessary? Privacy and smell isn't an issue for me.

You don't actually need a tent until you flip to flower, though having one sooner will allow you to more easily control the environment for optimal growth.

Cool thanks for that. So what I priced for diy (especially panda film) will run me $50-$60. I've seen online I can get 2x4 or 3x3 for $30-$70 is this a better route to go because money is my current issue with a tent I'll be paid in 2 weeks so not that big of deal just wanted to make sure.

A pre-made tent would probably be the way to go. That way you can take it down easily if you ever need to move it.
I've heard some of the cheaper tents can come with light leaks, so once you get one I'd set it up and close yourself inside of it in a bright room so you can spot and patch any leaks.
