Im confused... Why is ISIS picking on france so much?

France is the world stage for a lot of their hate. The french muslims are feeling picked on because they had a jew president (sarkozy) etc. its the multiculture pot of the world.

The muslim population is very high and France has active bombing campaigns in the middle east and old territories, I believe.
I consider France part of the middle east now.
