Well the tried and true way imo is s humidity dome,perlite, and rockwool cubes. But hydro cloners are pretty popular.

I just stick the cuttings in a cup of water till they start to root. Then transfer to whatever medium I'm using at the time.

Does water root?
Has anyone tried tissue culture? I figure tissue culture is probably overkill for most operations.

TC is great for cloning auto flowering strains. Actually the only way to clones auto.
Greenhorns had a tc log but he's been MIA for awhile now.

Yes. when you see the root "bumps" start to form is when you what to transfer.
