I don't know what state you're in, but where I'm at it is against the medical mj law to medicate in public. Pretty much have to keep it inside your house or on private property. I bet the law is similar wherever you're at.
And heads up, you're not protected by medical mj laws on federal property.

I'm pretty sure smoking in public is illegal. Whether you have your Med card or live in a rec state.
Now whether the cop will write you up is a different matter.

Smoking in San Fran is perfectly fine. On the other hand your not allowed to smoke cigarettes in public there. They have many many many clubs with outdoor smoking areas next to the street like cafe's. (trying to copy Amsterdam). In Oakland they have a whole part of town called Oaksterdam where all the clubs are and you can smoke in public there. Los Angeles has a ton of clubs with outdoor areas also but I hate the clubs in Los Angeles half of them are gang run.
Do not smoke in State Parks or places like Yosemite. That falls under federal land and you get to tell how you got busted in a park in California but your doing your time in Kansas.
