Transplanting before rain..
    #780019 - 05/26/15 12:26 PM (8 years, 9 months ago)

This is my second year growing outdoors, I started some seeds early May and put the seedlings outdoors, but due to unseasonably cold weather the last few weeks I was forced to bring them inside under a t-5 4ft light.

They are mostly about 3 weeks old, and I'm gonna be transplanting some into the ground and some into large pots now the temps are where they should be. Today is a nice day and was going to do it today, but I see rain is in the forecast the next two days.. My question is, is it ok to transplant in the ground before a storm or should I wait til the weather is going to be nice for a week or so(which could be a while where I live, a lot of rain)?
Also, is morning or evening better for transplanting?

The rain wont make a difference just transplant them and put them under shelter

What would you reccomend for shelter? The ones going into the ground are going to be planted in a wooded area that has a clearing so they get plenty of sun. I have 22 plants at the moment, thinking I'm gonna plant maybe 14 outdoors in a few different areas in case rippers find em I won't lose all my ladies

I always just flip a bucket over small ones if it's gonna rain hard but if its a sheltered area you'll probably be fine

Depends on how much rain and your soil composition

I ended up just putting three gods gift seedlings out, as they were free seeds someone gave me and not doing as well indoors as the other 20 or so plants.. Mixed ff ocean forest with native forest soil that I grew a few plants in last year. If they don't survive or do well I think  just gonna keep the rest in large pots and camouflage em outdoors as I have 85 acres of wilderness behind my house that is all my property.

I can't afford good indoor lights right now, I've been begging under a single 4 foot t-5 which has been working well but I need the sun to finish these off until this fall when I will have the funds to invest in some hps lights to start doing mostly indoor grows. I live in the far northeast and can get some nice nugs outdoors but would like to do this year round..
