Question on cloning in flowering cycle
    #760128 - 12/02/14 10:30 PM (9 years, 3 months ago)

So will cannabis root as a clone if the light cycle is in 12/12? Will roots form if the clone taken was from a mother plant in veg cycle, but put in 12/12 lighting instead of 18/6? (Just rephrasing in case of bad English)

Yes they will still root.

Happens sometimes to me...
Its like I realize "this bud is killer!" on an unknown and have to take a flowering cycle clone to preserve & continue.
They seem to become more woody as time progresses so try to find something reasonably tender if you can.  Usually they'll form weird single twisty leaves and then start to form 3's and progressively normalize as the plant reverts back to veg... it takes a little bit of time but its cool to watch.

You are exactly right. What happens is a process called reverting. When a plant that was in flowering goes back into 18/6 light it reverts. The blades of the leaves go from say a 7 blade to a 5 then 3 then back to 1 as if to go back to the seedling stage and start over again.

Now here is the key thing. Once this process starts it can't be stopped. You can stop reading now.

In 1985 when I was just starting under the lights I wanted to sex my plants so I cut the lights back to 12/12. I removed the males and put the lights back to 18/6 so the plants could gain size. The reverting process slowed their process by 3 to 4 weeks. Learning process I guess.

Here is a Ww I harvested this outdoor season. I took the bottom branch and put it in a cloner in 24 light.

She is just getting ready to give me like 10 clones off her.

This is when it just got roots and put in in soil. You can see were bud was on the end but it rotted so I took it off and trashed it.

Now look at it! Sorry kinda hard to see but its way in the back in that weird pot.Its already on it 5 leafer lol

I have done this about 8 times. Some make it some dont. diff strains act different.

Just wanted to share what I do to reveg my shit if I have too

Looks good.  Usually I like 18/6 but 24/0 would seem a better way to go for faster or even to get to revert.  Once in flower they seem to want to keep flowering.  The dark period is an interesting twist to try.
