I wouldn't grow without a medical card in Washington, the laws are still just as bad as they were for non medicinal use. Just bud is legal, plants never changed laws.

I would still make an effort to still hide it, if not for legal reasons, just to avoid people stealing your bud.

I wonder how hard it is to become a legal commercial grower. Probably costs money more than anything.

My buddy is waiting to get his legal growing permit, the system is complex and tracks plants once they root, gotta assign them an ID tag, have extensive surveillance and security. Pricey to start, not just buy a bunch of equipment and rent a warehouse to get started. You seriously need to be legit as fuck. Your video is suppose to be available to the state so they can review it at any time type stuff.

If you're not strictly in compliance in any state there's a possibility you'll get fucked.

In Washington it used to be that documentation of your condition, such as MS or other qualifying condition, could be medical paperwork from your regular doctor. Its not how they do it anymore. If they stop you and you don't have the card they will arrest you, take you to jail, possibly spend the night or weekend, take all your bud and you can speak to the judge about your medical status. You may have to pay a fine of some sort or do some jail time, which would be much more expensive than the $100-200 it takes to get your officially recognized medical recommendation on tamper proof paper.

Quote:

Washington State said:
  (7) "Valid documentation" means:    (a) A statement signed and dated by a qualifying patient's health care professional written on tamper-resistant paper, which states that, in the health care professional's professional opinion, the patient may benefit from the medical use of marijuana; and    (b) Proof of identity such as a Washington state driver's license or identicard, as defined in RCW 46.20.035.

The entire law is here: http://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=69.51A

I live in eastern Washington and I understand it's a bit different on the other side of the mountains (Cascades) The consensus here is dont be dumb, and lets not fuck up a good thing. Of course we're gonna have a bunch of dummies burning down their apartment complexes with their covert "under the bed grow". When your "dog" decides to pop crop, make sure he does it responsibly. Do the homework, make an area suitable for your chosen strain to flourish.

Only coloraldo allows you to grow in a recreational state, the others still have laws against it.

Well yeah.  But they are already not prosecuting people in the Portland area.  Not sure if you get caught crowing and they wont charge you, but at least for posses ion they said that they aren't going to prosecute
