What if we are a far off distant race?
Billions of years ago the earth was inhabited by dinosaurs. Flesh eating ass holes. Thing is, earth had the perfect environment.
So what did are old school alien homies do? They fired a large rock into earth knowing it will destroy all. Shortly after our organisms were sent here to grow and populate the earth.
It was a slow process, but through out time uncle alien would drop in and help out. Fire, the wheel, electricity, 2pac...

There is a widely accepted theory that life started on earth when an astroid hit earth, it had some microbial life that created life on earth.
