Vista - how the fuck do I make it less resource hungry?

Not that it slows me down - I just got a new computer, but I hate having unnecessary shit and I'm new to Vista.

What shit in msconfig can I take off? How can I manage the animation settings and the other vista settings?

I'm installing Linux on a second partition and using it for all my encrypted work (will use TrueCrypt I'm thinking on that, as Ubuntu isn't totally secure yet as far as encryption). Will still need to work with stupid ass Vista for some other stuff though.

Help me out all.

How exactly do you change themes?

It's a bit harder than XP so far... seems like all the settings are scattered instead of most of them being right click properties on the desktop.

Right-click on desktop.

Then select Personalization from the menu.

Go to Window Color And Appearance - top item.

At the bottom, click on Open classic appearance properties for more color options.

Vista doesnt suck. I dont understand all these Vista haters, most of whom have never even used Windows Vista. Since SP1 was released I have had no problems with Vista and I quite like it.

Well, I have two main problems with it.

It's a resource hog. As a default, XP was pretty hoggish too and it took a couple years of tweeking to tune it up to the point where it was great - but now that I'm framiliar I could do it in a day on a new computer. However, the settings layout on vista has totally changed since XP and now has little to no order or logical placement of settings. It looks good, and that is it. The two start menus included are gay as fuck, since the new one is retarded and the old one doesn't include all the options (wtf microsoft?). My brother also complained that it's slow as fuck for gaming and he gets a max of 20fps on WoW using a brand spanking new quad core desktop.

The second thing, as already mentioned, was the gay ass layout. Fuck that shit.
