Pavaver Somniferum attempt

Taking another whack at growing some poppies. My last couple attempts were very unsuccessful. I tried starting in peet pots and planting outside when thinned out to a single strong plant, but all damped off first time and second attempt I think got devastated by gnats. Now knowing what pests I'm up against I've started another bed inside in a tray about 20"X5"X5" using miracle grow seed starter topped with vermiculite which I sowed the seeds into and spraying gently every now then to keep moist. I'll start a grow log if they don't die off as soon as the leaf fuzz starts like the others.

You're going to want more than one plant man. They can do well with many plants in one area.

I was thinning to one plant per Peet pot. More than 1 cool in that space? I was thinking in that new tray I'd max out at maybe 5 mature plants total right? This round seems to be doing much better. I'm leaving the tray almost completely covering an ac outlet so its staying right around 62f in the soil. Lots of little sprouts now.

Are you moving them to outdoor plots? if so pack em in man. 5 plants is not that many.

Honestly I think they are probably going to stay indoors. Unless I want to try and transplant. I was thinking 5 finishing in that pot.

Tons of sprouts all just about to free themselves from the seed pod. Soil remains at about 62 during the day when the a/c is on and 72 at night when its off. So far so good.
