Don't be ashamed of that feeling, it's a feeling you should embrace, just don't make any rash decisions as a result. If it means something important to you then don't treat in a negative or positive manner.
Meditate. Think in absence of temporal things, and if nothing with your feeling changes, embrace it! It sounds an awful lot like 'Nirvana', or 'Zen', the ego-loss with lapse of temporal reference.
Maybe read the book this post was based on. It really is a beautiful bridge between eastern and western thought on reality.

i meditate daily. it helps keep my head on straight. usually right after i smoke bud cause it helps keep my mind concentrated. i've studied conscious dreaming now for about 3-4 years

Ego-loss is a beautiful thing, it represents the entirety of what we are, and have been, since before you/I/us were born and what will be after we die.
Religion and policy stay the same, until they don't. But the entirety of experience, and the flow of this universe, does not.

Yea you could say its ego loss, i look at it more as my head has been split open and thoughts are aloud to just pour in. And at the same time while the thoughs fill up my mind my ego and bad thoughts exit.
