and its shrunk and compacted and still looks good i was wondering if this was a truffle in the making?

I had a wbs jar of cubes that stayed colonized for about that long. It contaminated later on but was still alive

i was told its what happens when the conditions aren't right and a mushy body grows underground i figure because its wbs and its been in a jar breathing in fresh air and theres some liquid in the and it looks completely solid and not gonna lie resembles what pics i've seen of truffles i may be way off but hey thats what u smart guys are for

Oh nah man, stones only form with certain species (not cubes).
Open the jar, fill with water, drain in 6 hours, close. If its alive you will see fresh mycilum when it recovers

Might as well try it...
Ive thrown spent cakes and old ass jars into my flower beds and had cubes pop up after a good rain. Dug around and found lil patches where the myc had spread.
