'The Sow-Early May'

I have a variety of opium poppy seeds which all came from the web, some from australia. Ive decided to sow them since its about that time. I plan on harvesting thousands of seeds to sow in the fall as well. Saw a black mountain lion up where I took these pics. Wish me luck!

Looks like a good spot! Wish I could Grow there. How far in the Styx's is it looks like not alot of cover to hide them?

That is a hella lot of poppy seeds and an absolutely beautiful spot! Have you ever grown those before? You are gonna need a lot more space than what you have turned up. From the looks of it you have about 200-300 poppy seeds. Those generally need about 1 sq.ft. of space per plant. Keep us updated with the progress. Best of luck!

The pic is a south slope just below the peak of a mountain. Its pretty deep in the stix since i live in the stix, all i gotta do is hike my backyard pretty much and witness a black mountain lion. There is pocket gopher holes everywhere alongside the entire southern slope of the mountain im doin this on. I realized that after I scattered some of the seeds already. We'll see how it goes. I might have to plant the rest on the peak where there is WAY less sun and trees overhead but no gophers.

Ya its real nice up here. People always tell me how blessed I am to liv in OR and I guess ive taken it for granted all these years. Im guessing its well over 200-300 seeds. Thank for the advice on how to plant em. I have been scatterin em too close. Ill take the first planting on gopher holes as a test to see if anything can be planted on the southern slope at all. Including cannabis.

So the gophers have set me back a bit and I couldn't get around to buyin peat pellets for the longest time, so im a month late. But its goin. I think I sprinkled em too close together on the pellets. At least on a couple of em I did. When should I start thinning? Trying to thin em down to the healthiest sprout per pellet.

wait till about 3-4 days after they sprout to thin out the stragglers

Why do this as a guerilla??  I grow em in my front and back yard and just harvest em as I please.  No one really questions poppies being grown.

one of best scores ive ever found was i came across a MASSIVE poppy garden at a old folks home.  im talking thousands of em..... i waited till the fall... and when all the flowers were dead and the pods were ready i took em all.... i had 2 grocery bags FULL of pods.... needless to say.  it was a very itchy winter

its not stealing when all the flowers are dead and there is snow on the ground.  all that was left was the pods :thumbup: .  They prob had no idea those pods could get you high
