Use glycerin next time. There's no need to use alcohol for extractions. Especially something as nasty as everclear.

For the glycerine extraction? I'd really like to know how that goes...I've never done it, but if you can get a super concentrated product, fairly easily, I think it would be worth it.
Hawk: It sounds like you have some experience with it; care to go into a bit more detail?

i make glycerin and alcohol tinctures. as well as canna-capsules made from coconut oil (my personal favorite). i'd be more than happy to share my recipes with ya if you're interested.
first things first though. you've gotta get some more plant material into that alcohol tincture! you will be sorely dissapointed with the results if you don't.
in my last batch i used 10 oz of popcorn bud with approximately 500 ml of alcohol. when you pour the alcohol onto your herb you should stop when the alcohol BARELY covers the plant material.

Medicinal Cannabis Tincture
Ingredients Needed : food grade glycerin, medicinal cannabis (preferably buds or sugar trim), and warm water (purified water if possible)
Tools Needed : crock pot, glass measuring cup, wooden chopstick, sharp knife, silk screen filter...coffee filter or mesh strainer, glass bowl and dark storage jars.
- use one cup of glycerin per oz of plant material
- measure the amount of glycerin needed and pour it into your crock pot. allow the glycerin to warm to 175 degrees. DO NOT let the temperature of the ingredients in the crock pot exceed 175 degrees.
- once the glycerin has warmed add in your medicine. stir it up a bit and then grab your chop stick. stick the chopstick straight down into the glycerin/cannabis mixture. you will now pull the chopstick out and mark the height of the liquid on the stick with your knife. the height you mark will be the ultimate goal for the end of the cooking process.
- now add your purified water to your crock pot until it reaches the very top. cook for three days. stirring occasionally and adding water when needed. You will need to keep the water level at the top of the crock pot for the full three days. Keep the temps at or slightly below 175 degrees Fahrenheit.
- at the end of the third day strain out the plant material and pour the liquid into a bowl. now rinse out the bowl of the crock pot and pour the liquid back into the crock.
- cook for an additional 2 days with the cover off the crock pot. allow the water to cook off. once the level gets low enough you will need to measure the level of the liquid with your chop stick.
- once the glycerin reaches the mark on your chop stick you are done. time to sample your product!
I usually have to repeat this process at least twice to get the potency i desire. Adding in fresh plant material each time of course.
when i have more time i'll post up my coconut oil recipe. it's a lot easier/faster from start to finish
