I'm planning on making some custom epoxy rolling trays with different stuff layered in. I know how epoxy works, and I know how to embed stuff, my problem arises from getting it into the correct shape.
I'm not sure how would be best to make a mold. I figure I'll buy a standard size rolling tray and go from there. The only thing I can think of would be stamping it into some clay and pouring the epoxy in to make the initial shape. I highly doubt clay and epoxy play well together, so I'm kinda at a loss of how to make the mold. Anyone got some suggestions? Preferably something I can reuse so I don't have to do it multiple times.

The clay mold will work fine.
Just make the shape you want, then heat the clay until it's hard; after that, the epoxy won't interact with your mold.
Once you have the clay mold, you can use it over and over.

I'm just concerned with getting the epoxy out of the clay :/ not sure how I'd do that.

Sorry, I didn't explain very well.
I found this, which is a simplification of the process.
The clay allows you to create the shape for your epoxy mold, but then create the actual product with high density resin, plastic, or high density polystyrene.

can i ask where do you get your epoxy? been wanting to inclose some items i have but cant find it in bulk
