 yellow tips and a little curling

help a noob out
1. Are you growing from seed or clones? seed from a bag
2. How old are your plants? 3 weeks
3. How tall are your plants? 5.5 inches
4. What size containers are they planted in? big ass pot
5. What is your soil mix? organic from wal mart
6. How often do you water and what type of water do you use? once a week and water from the sink but it is filtered using a brita
7. What is the pH of your water? dont know
8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio? none
9. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? no
10. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") fluorescent only 19 watts
11. How close are your lights to the plants? 12 inches
12. What size is your grow space in square feet? in a box type thing with no lid 2.7 sq feet
13. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? not sure probably on the cold side
14. What is the pH of the soil? dont know
15. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? no
16. How much experience do you have growing? not much

Well the soil is probably a little too hot for the young plant. You also are feeding it water that you are unaware of the pH, this can cause a slew of problems. Your light should also be way closer to the plant, a couple inches away.

Exactly my thoughts.
But if the soil IS too hot, wouldn't it be much better not to put the plant to close to the light? Because the high LIght impact provokes a higher evaporation from the plant's leaves and by that a higher nutrient uptake?

It's a 19 Watt fluorescent. They put off very little heat. If it were a hps or mh then yea.
