Hydro Cloning
    #640018 - 10/12/12 03:50 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Say I started some clones in a mini-DWC setup and only suspended the cuttings in foam collars.

Once they have roots dangling and are ready to transplant, would it be  possible to transplant them into another DWC with net pots and clay balls?

Or do you have to transplant into soil?

I only ask because it would seem difficult to transplant the roots to clay balls and kind of defeat the purpose. Unless I'm missing something here.

Thanks

:peace::heart:

I see!

How could one go about the transplant into clay balls without harming the roots or shocking the piss out of the beauty?

I am grateful for your help!

You just gently lay the hydroton over the roots, then raise the level of the water up to where the roots are.

Awesome!

You two just opened some incredible possibilities for me, and I thank you.

Totally posting pics when all is said and done.

I felt I should add.
Is to remember when starting feeding on newly rooted clones, to start at 1/4 to 1/2 strength.

You should be doing things in PPM or EC damnit :megacrankey:

PPM and EC equal strength doesn't it?
Giving then a week or two at a lower strength tends to improve survival rate.
In my experience anyways.

I go no nutes for the first week or so.  then go with 200 PPM to start.  But that depends on the nutrient brand.  Some run higher or lower than others, case in point Botanicaire, it runs lower than most.
