Dog boners are gross, and boy dogs always seem to get them at the dumbest times.
I hung out with a friend of mine yesterday who has a male dog. He just kept getting dog wood all day and it made me not want to pet him.
And yes, he's fixed.

I like the personality of the males in some breeds better than females, and vice versa.

I agree with the whole personality/gender/breed thing. I've had a few male dogs and never really had an issue, though I've seen quite a people have them with their dogs

I have to deal with dog penis many times a day these last couple of weeks. My dog isn't neutered as he had severe heart worms when we got him and if put under for the surgery, he would die.
At the same time, my brother's dog is in her first heat and they're going to get her fixed afterwards. Needless to say, a testosterone filled male dog and an ovulating female dog in the same house is a recipe for disaster. He sits outside her door and nips at my aunt when she walks past to make sure she knows that he's having sex with the dog, not her. He whines when she barks. Luckily, it's almost over and he won't have to deal with that again. I felt really bad for him.
