fem auto/reg mix {grow report}

i have about 20 diff auto fem seeds i plan on using. how  many watts would I really need to get the most from these???

would a couple hundred watts of cfls be plenty?? thats what i planned on. Or should I used a 100W HPS? which would have less light heat? and what time cycle you think is best for autos?

How many are you going to grow at a time?  Personally I would go with the hps.  Also I think lights on 24/7 is best for auto's as they don't really have a lot of time.

I've grown autos under 24 and 12 and I think 18. The finished product didn't differ enough between them to make much of a difference. So I just do them like normal plants. 24 until flower, and flip to 12. You're more than welcome to run the lights 24 instead but the extra bits of growth weren't worth the extra stress on my equipment and the extra few bucks on the power bill.

Your biggest determining factor will be the pots you start them in in my experience. I find its best not to transplant autos. Start them in the container you want them to finish in. I used to start them in party cups like my regular ladies and clones but stopped and just went strsigt to gallon buckets. The difference was noticablr for sure.

I'm not sure where I remember reading this, but I know it was here, and I THINK it was Magash that broke it all down in the thread... But watt for watt, CFL's produce MORE heat than HID lights produce. I would recommend using an HID light, in all honesty, but what you decide is up to you. I've seen people get pretty decent buds from just using CFL's. Nothing really stellar, mind you. Just nice decent mid-grade herb...

well i plan on using maybe 200 watts of cfls. all diff spectrums. than if i change my mind i most likely will add a small HPS. I know i can get good personals rom cfls and this. i will buy 2-3 more cfls bubls and i will get something nice i know it. with cfls i can use 2 small peronal fans and it would be enough to cool lights.

i have bomb strains and from germ to finish shold only take 7 weeks.

I  have 4 autofem sweet seeds fast bud, 3 autofem Freedom of Seeds Auto Jacks, 2 devilmatic autofem, 2 fem Ipot, 2 fem Early XXX, and a half dozen of non fem very rare stuff..like g13 crosses, and skunk crosses, and cali shit.

i think this is correct still..but 3 or 4 strains not in this got smashed in the mail. I ll keep an update or use this as my grow log mos likely,.

Well the autos are auto so lighting with them you don't really have to worry about.  Just pay attention to the reg and fem seeds and do what they need.

true. I meant more about the reg and fem seeds fucking each other up and getting seeds on my femz easier. I will have to keep an extra eye for males and herms. or perhaps veg the reg seeds in a small sep area?? this is all personal and nothing huge. I decided i may go with a 150W HPS and about 100+ watts of extra cfl for flower and 147W of cfl for veg.

EDIT...going with a 250W HPS and 100+ watts of cfls for flowering..

also have a friend taking clones of wonder women, black jack, and durban poison. So by the time i get them I can swith to 12/12

Just watch for males after you change the light cycle.  Its not like they drop pollen right away.  You got a large amount of time to get the males out before they do dmg.

im thinking of setting up a new grow box. I have these really nice mini fans to cool.

where can i get black out paper?? the white/black sided stuff??

and whats my best bet for odor control in a very small set up? carbon in buckets or something???

With autos I'd say multiple CFLs would be better because you cannot train them to get an even canopy (Edit: that much)...

i plan on using larger pots and these strains are suppose to be nice and bushy from some grow reports.

Ill have durban poison, black jack , and wonderwomen in there also...non auto but they re clones and will be ready to flower.

How many plants do you wanna grow under these lights exactly? Like let them grow naturally without big training in order to have a decent sortiment of strains?

1000 watt HPS will do 25 really nicely if they have a short veg time or are autos.

im doing all autos..and a few fem reg..the autos are fem also. im planning on doing aroiund 20 autos..in 2 gallon pots.

With a lot of rotation I could see it.

But you may have the same results with only 5 or 4 at a time. Also if you run just the autos you can use a much longer light period of 20 hours on 4 off a day.

With the limited light, but running 20 hours on and good rotation with the autos you could do pretty well.

well im not going hydro..but im assumiing it would work fine as a grow tent..

unfortunately my car got fucked up and had to spend a few gs to fix it..so i need about a week til i get payed again to get it started again.

I went years doing big grows,,and im just looking for personal this time around..so this will be a fun experiment.

ha i almost bought anoter 150 watter, but said NO...test this small grow out first haa

ill put the seeds in my coco today though...and by the timei get what i need ill tranfer to tent though since i have a sep veg area.

Like I said, I prefer Botanicaire. 

When I go organic I don't buy bottled nutrients.  I make my own teas.

picked up some nice ferts. earth juice microblast, biothrive, and andvanced nutes grow mix in the watering now.all in quarter to half dose.

mostly all earth juice and advance nutes some general orgranics also and clone x and clone riot..and some good biostimulant type stuff
and a nice digi ph reader

bout a nice new clip on fan to cool off the light on the side.the ventilation is great and all the plants seem to love their homes.

ona gel works quit well also

will be starting a mini veg box with 23 watts of cfl to do 4 clones of the bottom of the clones i got .

will be using a gallon of water with very lose dose of general ogranics biothrive, advanced nutrients grow, and a nice dose of earth juice microblast. i have 3 sep 1 gallon jugs. and am useing mostly 3 gal pots and few 1 gal.

addded 200 more watts of cfl and using 42 w cfl for veg/clone box

the 55 watter is bright! got a few to get the bottom of the area that the 150watter hps isnt getting

getting an ozone air thing. its relaly the only way to get rid of smell without making holes in walls

gotta save up for it...its a must have..

You can't run an ozone generator in your grow space.  Not good for you or your plants from my understanding.  You run it in your ducting.

heres the set up just chilling the left are the clones of black jack and wonder women and 4 of the them are autos but i forget hah bt 2 are blueberry auto and 2 are auto ak47 then there is a whitewidowafghankush and a skunk47..which i think i know  whic i si is which. one is kinda scraggly..then there is 2 that i think are autos since they look identacle but more sativa...and tehre are 2 indica that im assuming are autos...the wwkush and akskunk is gonna be a surprise
