 Looks like I'm going to start growing!

My caregiver told me that he's going to have to stop growing so much because of his own health issues which means it may be time for me to start growing. I was planning on starting to grow soon anyways and I have the indoor/outdoor cultivation bible.
My dad is going to be helping with he cost and he's going to growing with me.
I'm going to be growing in a room the basement.
I don't have the exact measurements right now but it's a pretty decent size, it used to be my sister's room and it has a closet.
We'll probably be growing 6-12 indica dominant plants, we plan to sell to dispensaries or become caregivers as well as supply my own medicine.   
My caregiver offered me clones for $10 a piece.

I'm trying to figure out what soil, lights, and all that stuff and trying to figure out the best place to get it. there are a lot of hydro grow shops near me.
I'll be making a few hundred bucks which I'm planning on putting some toward the grow and some toward smoke until harvest comes in. I still have an quarter of blue widow and those two ounces of grand daddy purple x critical plus and also a couple grams of purple urkle. but then my dad will be putting some some money into the grow too so that will be good.
I should probably measure the space tomorrow so I can get a better idea what I'm gonna need to buy.
recommend any good indica dominant strains with heavy yields? I'll have to ask my caregiver what clones he has to spare.

I'm reading the jorge cervantes grow bible and finding it very informative but looks like a lot of complicated information.
Once I know the exact measurements and decide upon what method/lights and such I want to use it will probably make more sense.

Northern Lights, Purple Urkle, Grand Daddy Purp, and Shark Attack.

Do you think I should just buy a few clones and start a few plants and can make clones from them or if I have the space to grow them should I just buy 6-12 clones?

Personally, I'd say just buy the clones and grow them out. Learn what you're doing before you worry about trimming and cloning and all of that.

Thats good advice but 1st you need to build your grow room.
Get the size. Is it a closet or room?
I can get 120 plants under 2, 1000 watt lights, in a 4 x 8 space.

This is a better plan. I was gonna say 2 of each, one to flower, one to save...but I was assuming he wasn't gonna have a designated flower/veg area to start out with.

Perfect thinking right here. Your veg room can be really simple man. All you need is a shop light from wal-mart or the equivalent, set it up in that closet you were talking about and then just light proof that closet. Super simple way to go in the beginning.

I would avoid purple urkle, personally. I hear it's the slowest growing plant ever, and while the final product is high quality, it yields like shit too.
No reason to grow a slow vegging, low yielding plant when there are plenty of strains that veg quickly and yield high with equal quality

Normally I'd agree Harry.
But in today's world of clone only strains, there's a chance it's not really purple urkle, but something that products well, purple's easily, and has a high potency.
I oould give it a try for sure, before writing it off.
It could be like my Hindu Kush.
Going by bud, effect, taste, and potency it's Hindu Kush.
But watching it grow, showed me it's not.

Ok, I can agree with that, but why would you grow it waist high if that's the case? that's way too tall to be effective. If you're planting 4 plants per square foot then the plant should only be a foot to a foot and a half tall at most in my opinion.

Hmm well if it is his genetics then maybe I shouldn't get clones from him. He said he got the seeds form Marc Emery's bank before the bust and he does think it is the real purple urkle strain.

Before making such a statement one should understand genetics better.
In most cases the stronger the potency, the lower the yield and the higher the yield the lower the potency is.
This isn't always true, tho I have yet to find a plant to break the rule.
I have only heard tales of high potency strains with a heavy yield.
Or maybe your caregiver keyed in on bag appeal when picking his genetics.
That's seems to happen a lot.
Your posted pictures show some heavy purple genetics.
I'd personally get the clones because you seem to enjoy the smoke.
And it's not like you couldn't pop some seeds and look for something you like more.

Good thinking, I had a little talk with him and he thinks his low yield was coming from overcrowding which is partly why he just grows for himself now.
When you talk about trading high yield for a high potency how high are the yields for a high quality plant? If I got 4-8oz a plant with 12 plants I'd be more than happy.

Then why didn't he just grow less plants? Just because he has permission for whatever number of plants doesn't mean he HAS to grow that many. Or at least if he was determined to have that many, grow in a style that suits it and maximizes the yield.

But this guy has given me ounces and ounces of really good medicine for fifty dollars an ounce so I don't feel like giving him any sort of hard time.

He is really cool and I am still appreciating these two ounces of Grand Daddy Purple x Critical + I still have from him, might be my new favorite strain. His Blue Widow excellent as well. He suffers from some medical conditions himself which is part of the reason he had to drop his patients.
This weekend I will be seeing my dad and be able to talk to him about getting a move on and buy some stuff to start growing.
