When you medicate with cannabis...

When you are trying to medicate some ill (nasuea, migraines, inflammation, pain, anxiety, ect.) how much cannabis do you find it takes?
Do you need to smoke more than you normally would to get high, less, or just the same?

Sometimes I find I need to take smoke a little more, but some people assume otherwise.

I find that with good cannabis it shouldn't take more than a few hits. :shrug:

When I'm medicating for a headache or nausea, I can usually feel better after just one hit.

So many people like to talk about how much they smoke in a session, and then I smoke their weed and understand why they can smoke so much of it. Because its garbage.

When I medicate, I use an extremely small amount. A gram of hash lasts four or five days of hourly tokes.

Getting high, I use about 2-3x as much per bowl, but it's still a very small amount and not more than a half gram a day max.

It's because I'm poor, so efficiency is key. I don't put more than one hit in a bowl and I never waste any smoke.

I always cover up the piece after I hit it to not waste any smoke, had a friend that would always leave the bowl burning and waste a bunch of smoke..dude's an idiot.

a small amount, like 1-3, but if i just want to get high i'll smoke 4-5.
So threshold affects to medicate, depending on what i'm medicating.

I don't smoke pot to medicate.  When my stomach feels uneasy it is due to other issues and I can fix it without having to smoke pot.  Same with anxiety.  I rather fight the root cause then use something to mask the issue. But I guess masking the issue is easier than fighting the root cause. I smoke pot to waste time and have a good time whilst doing so.

I agree man....


When it comes to headaches or something like nausea it really only takes a couple puffs and I'm good (maybe 0.1g), I love how quickly and instant the relief is too. With something like sore muscles/deep pains after a long day of snowboarding or hiking, those are the times I will smoke a good amount (0.3g to 0.4g) paired up with a hot bath.


Those are the only things I commonly experience that I use cannabis solely for treating...

I've found sometimes that I need more cannabis to help my pain than I do to get me high. Not too much more. Not a bad thing either.

I think if you're trying to medicate it's best to eat an edible with hash in it.  But if you have to do things it might not be a good idea.

Pot helps my stomach more than anything I've ever tride.
It's a "cure" for my IBS/IBD. If I smoke enough of it- it's gone.
Having a medical card is awesome, now I have free access to my medicine.
