Idk, if a locality were to be "put under supervision" by the FBI, say LA for example, they could get records for every person growing/buying medi-weed and slap them with federal charges.
I'm not saying medical weed is bad, but I haven't benefited from it being in VA. I know that's because they are no dispensaries or collectives here, but the collectives in Cali kind of have this stereo-type of being souped up drug dens.
I'm all for weed though, I just think there needs to be a legitimate change on the federal level before it's taken seriously.

As long as you follow the guidelines and grow for yourself and tell nobody, they will never have any reason to come bust you. They can't target everyone they are targeting these dispensaries and shit that are affiliated with criminal activity or producing it and knowingly allowing non-patients to use it.

Perhaps it's just a part of the drug ladder. =) I really don't know what I'm talking about anyways. Most of the practical things I say are fabricated or water-downed. I do my best though =)

That is pretty good if its at least semi-quality. I know Canada has lower weed prices in general.
The price is similar to yours, in bulk. Nobody is getting that good of a deal on street prices unless it's brown-bud.

From what I've seen, the average eigth of medical marijuana costs $60-80 at a disspensary and a gram costs $18-22. You often find those prices on the street for similar "high grade" bud, but "regular/mid grade" costs about $25-30 an eigth and $10-15 a gram on the streets. So there isn't too much of a difference except for the fact that dispensaries only sell high grade bud, or so I've been told.

Damn ... in the street, the price for 1 gram is 10$, 3.5g 20$, 7g 40$...
I can get 14g for 60$, awesome weed & price, i'm just glad it is cheap here, means for weed for me to smoke the fuck out of my lungs

How have they lowered the prices? The lack of people buying from the illegal growers?
Fuck buying from dispensaries they're spendy as fuck, no weed should cost $60 an 8th.
And on the west coast buying illegally is usually much cheaper and the quality really is no different.IME

The 3 concurrent states all have MMJ, and Oregon allows you to be a MMJ patient in the state without being a citizen.
It's set up nicely for weed to get from where it's produced, to where it is consumed.

Pros: It's legal, cheap, and always available. High quality too.  Also lots of edibles and other stuff.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.

The pros and cons really depend on where you personally sit in the issue.
If you are a patient(wich anyone can be) and your only concern is buyng marijuana legally, then you can pay a $90 state extortion fee wich then allows you to BE allowed to purchase marijuana from dispensaries wich basically MUST rip you off in order to make ends meet and keeep paying all the different fines they keep giving dispensaries in order to stay in business. Just my opinion.
If you are a patient whose only concern is growing your own weed, Then it's great. You can pay the $90 state extortion fee if you want, or you can just keep your mouth shut and grow your own weed and not worry about it. In the legal states anyone with $250 and an extra corner is growing weed (and many with much less than that hehehe) so there's virtually no chance of bust. If the cops arent normally coming to your house (parties, domestic disputes, neighbor fights) then don't worry about it. 
If you are talking about getting into the grow business I suggest you don't. Or re-think it. EVERYONE is growing weed out here. Anyone who isn't doesn't want to. The price is so low you damn near have to give it away and that's assuming you can find a buyer, wich is illegal. Two years ago my wife and I devoted our financial life to building our grow and now we are scaling it down to just growing our personal legal amount. It's just not worth it.
If a dispensary is your concern, then all you need is about $250,000 and to find a city that does not currently have a moratorium on new dispensaries.
