Sounds shitty... What ever did happen to your whole growing project? Why are you stuck dealing poker all of a sudden?

I left Cali and the grow because the people I was working for are in massive debt. They spent way too much on the grow. It was going to be well over a year before they saw any profit and therefore well over a year before I got paid. They were borrowing even more to set up another flowering room which meant I was going to have to live in the living room at that point. I was sick of being in a small Cali town in the middle of the mountains with no money and not knowing anyone.
Plan is to work this shitty job and start my own grow the right way and learn from the mistakes those guys made. Originally, my partner and I wanted to travel a little bit first, but the money is so much less than it used to be dealing poker that we will probably have just enough for a grow.

Dealing pokers sucks. It's good money, but that's about all there is good to it. Your back, shoulders, and wrist hurt. It is very repetitive and unrewarding.
At least the jobs I have had in the past dealing poker have been in small poker rooms that have low limit games like 2-4 limit texas holdem and 1-2 no limit texas holdem.
When you deal the cash games at the world series, you are taking a gamble. My first 2 nights (tonight is to be my third) I got stuck in the high limit section. Talk about scum bags. They jump down your throat if you are even a little slow. I was always the fastest, most efficient dealer in the little shit hole jobs I had before this, but here the players expect way more. AND THEY DO NOT TIP MOST OF THE TIME. This is not just me, I can see it when I push the dealer in front of me and there is very little money in their clear tip box as well.
Why do these people think it's OK to not tip? When you can afford to play a game where the blinds are 100 dollars, can't you afford to throw a fucking dollar gratuity? It's disgusting. I work over time and barely make 200 dollars. That's for well over 200 hands dealt. Like I said the money is not bad, but the job sucks. It sucks the life right out of me. It used to be if you worked over time, you would clear well over 300. People are getting cheaper and angrier.
I'm so glad this job is only for a month. Fuck money. I hate work. Gotta get back to growing.
That's my rant. Thanks for reading.
Sucks. I'm assuming you live in Las Vegas? Where do you work at? WSOP you said? I think that's in the Rio. Wanna say they just changed it to another casino though. WSOP is tournies, not cash games. That could be why. There's no actual cash on the tables during tournies. And 200 hands isn't a lot of hands to deal for real for real. I mean it kind of is in live poker, but not really, but I could play that in 20 minutes online. Just have to deal more hands. Maybe once you've worked there longer you'll get better rooms to deal in. If you ever get in Bobby's Room, you'll make bank. That's where Ivey, and Brunson and all them play in all the time. I'm sure they save those for the veteran dealers. THat would make sense to me anyway. Oh well, find a new place to work if it's that bad. Could be the casino or whatever too.

I just worked 10 hour shifts for 9 days straight. I had one day off that flew by and now back to it again. Haven't been on here in over a week.
I do live in Vegas, and WSOP is at the Rio. And yes, WSOP is the largest and most prestigous tourmanment in the world, but they also have a cash game section. Most of the dealers choose to deal the tournament becasue it's so much easier and the money is guarenteed. I deal the cash games because you have a potential to make much more money, but the work is harder.
They call the high limit cash game section "the snake pit". Games start at 25-50 no limit holdem and go much much higher. The worst game to deal is 100-200 stud hi-lo and the badugi mixed games. I have spent a half hour dealing to these people and walked away with 5 dollars. This translates to stiff, stiff, stiff. In the lower limit section, stiffs are way fewer and the games are much more fun to deal.
There's not much left to it and I am so happy it will be over soon. I think I am going to either start looking for a nice simple job in a hydroponics store or maybe go back to dancing, but not stripping. And I can't wait to grow.
