What the hell just happened?!?

Let me explain the situation that happened like 10 minutes ago...

So I am working in a hotel as receptionist, I was taking a little bong break outside in the back, when I comeback, I see a guy standing in front of the television in the breakfast room. The hick: His face is not even 1 inch away from the screen. I think well maybe he is looking for the remote or whatever...
I look back 15 minutes later,he is still watching the television like a crazy lunatic 1 inch away from screen. I asked him if he wanted the remote or if I could help him in any ways, he was totally surprised that someone had spoken to him, he said no thanks and that he was going away.
He went in the halls, looking at the walls the exact same way that he was doing it with the television.

I didn't see him after that, 10 minutes later, a police come in the hotel and ask me if I had seen a man, she did a description of the guy, exactly him. I told her that he went in the hall, but I thought he had left already. She came back after looking, and told me to call her back if he ever came back, because they were looking for him, she didn't want to tell me why (I asked twice because I was curious, and totally stoned).

What the hell do you think that happened? I think he was really high on acid or shrooms.

Edit: I received a phone call at 8 p.m., it was the guy who ran away, he was so fucked up! He told me that some people in the hotel looked at him in the hall and knew who he was and called the police. Also, he told me that he knew I was on his side because I had offered him the remote (wtf?). He asked me if the police beat me or hurt me (lol), and that a lot of people knows him but that he doesn't know anybody.

Should I call the police or not? I am totally stoned and I don't want to talk with them.
