Why is joint rolling an art?
    #557860 - 05/24/11 10:44 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I was having a discussion with some friends (who can't roll without a rolling machine) and they were saying it is not an art.... in my opinion, it is, so I want to know your opinion about that, and maybe some reasons,

My reason is: Rolling is an art, because every time I do it, someone will appreciate the final results!

Gotta say, I'm pretty proud of my rolling capabilities. Especially since I started rolling my own cigs several years ago. Very relaxing to sit back and twist up two or three for later.
To achieve master status it's all about technique and consistency.

...and yes, I consider this a form of art, but not just for the creative freedom of different styles and techniques behind rolling alone.

A joint today sounds like a good idea.

I never understood how people have trouble rolling joints/blunts. I can somewhat understand if your rolling with shwag or some mids since it's so dry some of it will fall out. But if you have some good quality stuff. It shouldn't be a problem cause it'll form to the joint/blunt as you roll. Just let your thumbs do the work

Rolling is an art that I suck at, especially with mids/schwag which is all I can get for now

For the time being I'll just stick to my :mflb: and :pipesmoke:

That sucks man with enough patience and practice you'll get there. Just as long as you have thumbs you should be alright

Europeans roll so much better, think it's cos we mix with tobacco and use giant papers.

I roll my own smokes too and always do them backwards, as in fold the paper inside out with the sticky facing you and and then lick it through the paper leaving only a single layer with no overlap and hence no paper taste, just the goodness.

Not sure if it's an art as ideally they all come out looking the same, more of talent or skill IMO. Still don't get why North America doesn't use roaches (as in a piece of card that acts like a filter and stops the joint getting soggy/collapsing.)

Sorry for the boring post, wanna get my count up and check out the marketplace.:jah:

You might just as well call hitting it an art form also.

I've rode bmx for 6 years of my teen life, so i can definitely say that there IS artistic value in it. It mostly boils down to originality/creativity that makes it art. Passion plays a big part as well.

"Art" to me is more of an expression of yourself combined with another activity to the point where it is intertwined with the self and becomes part of you through experience. ...What a broad term that word has, so I could just just be spouting BS. So what do I know?

I love this bar.

I think it can be art the same way dance can be for some, very much depends what you put into and why I guess. I love stoner conversations!

Art is in the eye of the beholder

Well if you dont smoke tobacco, its not really better, I use king size papers, but only with weed, used to smoke cigarettes, but I haven't smoked 1 in 6 months now...

Also, well... I have no idea where you learned that we dont use roaches... I never rolled without one
