I had this same shit happen to me, and it sucked. I quit for a bit to get a job, and once I was able to smoke again, the herb I loved was kicking my ass up and down.
While I STILL haven't *fully* recovered from it, I found the best thing to do was keep smoking. Thing is, you got used to smoking with a tolerance - so odds are, you're smoking way more than you "need to".
I almost quit altogether, but then I had a party with people who also smoked, and had an awesome day. Now that my tolerance is back up, I still get a bit of what you described, but decreased a lot.
I find that 2-3 beers helps take any edge you might be feeling off too.

I have felt this before after sobriety breaks. Just start with one hit or 2. Then find something to do. Gardening? Hiking? Pretty much anything to use that anxiety for a good purpose. Do it with a friend if possible. Talking to someone while feeling like that does help! Start small! Work up to I again. Your tolerance will pick up fairly quick and this will just be a memory. Trust me.

People are forgetting that pot makes a lot of folks paranoid...... this isn't anything new I have friends that just cant smoke the stuff anymore because it makes them scared as shit of anything and everything. I have a friend that I've literally smoked pounds of weed with in high school who cant take a single hit without thinking he freaking out. He's not nuts he feels fine without pot but when he tries to toke with us he just cant anymore.

and you're saying he isn't nuts? Psychological disorders dont always have to be obvious to be there.. and years of extensive pot smoking can exacerbate these disorders.. sorry but its true

If not look it up, a lot of the symptoms are very reminiscent of a extreme weed, or other psychedelic freakout,
Dont get me wrong I love weed and psychedelics and I think its the individuals choice whether they use them or not, but I also believe and accept evidence whether I like it or not

He isn't paranoid schizophrenic though he's been arrested for weed and sent to a goddamn boys home in his teens for smoking it and subsequently tested for every type of behavioral problem and locked up for a year in a rehab/boy homes because of smoking weed. I think it is the law not the pot because without pot he is quite the model citizen.

I used to get paranoid about getting caught when I was sneaking around smoking without a medical license. But now that I'm not as worried about getting caught I don't get paranoid

same thing happened to me man.
same thing happened with me and tripping too.
so i stopped.
i didnt stop until a certain time, or until something happened. i just stopped.
then things felt good in my life. i handled shit i needed to handle. and i started tripping again. now its awesome.
i think it has to do with shit in your life, thats buried in your head.
thats how it was for me at least.

I cant believe how common this is; I havent experienced anything like this except for maybe once in my life and it was probably in my first year of smoking
Like others have said, I would try just smoking less. Your idea of smoking less potent weed is also a good idea. What do you normally smoke? medical marijuana?
