The burial at sea was due to the fact that no nation wanted to claim the bastard. I guess they considered the decent thing to do would be to follow the apparent Islamic law that he be buried 24 hours after death in the ocean.

I'm sure I botched the explanation for that, but the burial at sea was definitely on account of nobody wanting to have him buried on their turf.

We'll never know for sure.  So many things have come to light that the government has done in the past that it's hard to believe any assertion they have on anything.

IMO his death is only more reason to raise the terror alert. At least in their eyes.  I do think he is dead, but his death itself is going to be used as political leverage.

a couple of you are close, most are idiots.  The reason they did a burial at sea was because:

1.  No countries wanted the body.  What would other countries think of them?  How would that look in the political realm of things?

2.  Due to Islamic tradition, the body must be buried within 24 hours and they did this or said they did to respect Muslim tradition to those who aren't all alalalalalalalalala jihad n shit.  You have to remember, every thing in this deal had to be handled perfectly politically.  What will others think?  That's why I don't like politics, I would've shot him and probably dumped him out of the helicopter lol.

3.  They didn't want to create a shrine to him where other extremists could go to and so it wouldn't motivate more extremists than there already are.  Smart move imo if you really think about it. 

This is one time I kind of agree with how things were handled and I'm usually very anti govt.  And while I have tons of respect for those SEAL teams and special ops and all that (I'd love to do it and would already have joined, I can't cuz of medical shit) Obama did take a risk in giving the go ahead for this operation.  How would he have looked to the world if there was a group of school children in that house praying or just some random family there? That could've potentially ruined his political career and standing around the world in other governments' eyes.  He will almost surely be re elected now and I'm really not too big a fan of him, but I do have to tip my cap to him in this situation.  But don't forget, Obama didn't kill him, the military did.  Can you imagine being the first guy to slide down that rope from the chopper?  That takes balls the size of fuckin basketballs.

all in all, I think it's a good thing that he's dead, but he wasn't really an operational leader anymore.  he couldn't be really because he couldn't hardly move for real.  he was more of a figurehead and face of things.  it's a good thing that he's dead, but you cannot kill an idea.  i think some of those extremists will just say fuck it and quit, but some will be chomping at the bit harder than ever to fuck us up which really isn't anything new cuz they hate us already anyway, and i think some may try to start their own terrorist thing.  the thing that scares me is those who he's inspired who are just regular people, know what i mean?  not really part of organizations and running around in turbans.  just regular muafuckers running around with bombs in their shoes n shit.:nonono:
