Of course its right above the grow room...
I put a gallon milk jug under the leak with the top cut off so at least its not ruining the carpet. Its a known fact the roof in this house needs replacing, but we certainly can't afford to do it any time soon.
I can't really bring anyone in to look at the leak, because of its unfortunate replacement.
I recently popped a board off of the spot where its leaking from, and, looking at the area, theres a water stain to the area around where the leak is. No rotten wood, no mold, none of that shit. Just a semi-steady drip.
Wtf do I do?

you could go full ghetto and put a tarp on the roof 
But honestly if I were you I'd just crawl around in the attic (or crawlspace) and find all the spots that leak, seal them with a silicone caulking from the inside and then just lay down a new layer of shingles from outside. Depending on your skill level it might still look pretty ghetto but it'll look way better than the tarp, and it'll be a much more permanent solution.

shingles are simple to replace and as harry said silicone or tar is your friend

Problem is, I don't really have an attic or crawlspace. AFAIK, theres no way to get inside the ceiling.
I guess I could get up there and try to replace some shit, but I'm terrified of heights.

Hey Ras, sort to hear the situation.
Unless your in a trailor or have a flat commercial roof, you should have a little space in the rafters to crawl around. Silicone works good for water situations like Harry said. You more then likely have some nails poking thru that need sealing. Apply from inside and then on a clear sunny day, crawl up on da roof or get a friend who is not afraid of heights and look for any loose nails. Tar is in order for outside. Look around and fill anything that looks rough! This will get you buy for a little while longer. Definitely consider saving and spending the money to at least recover the roof. Once the wood starts rotting, your looking at a total roof replacement. Which is way more then just a simple shingle/tar paper replacement!

Also, just a reminder. If you do go up in da attic space. Do not step on anything other then the rafter boards or you will end up going thru the ceiling.

I always thought that was common sense till I watched a large black man come falling through my buddys kitchen ceiling and land on the oven while trying to hide from the cops
