Transporting
    #547763 - 04/18/11 11:13 AM (5 years, 7 months ago)

Hey all,

So my plants are getting ready to be transported outdoors to my site. But I am not sure hoe I should go about doing this. I've heard people use frame packs to transport water and soil but for plants? I don't see this as a safe way. Does anyone have a guide written up to convert frame packs? Any suggestions would be great!

To get plants to a location I get a cardboard box (that will fit into my backpack or duffel bag) and put my small plants within the box (have them be up right).  Or i germinate my seeds at home and then plant the seeds in cups at my location.

I recommend a large duffel bag like this taking the plants out of your grow area.

Bag 1

Bag2

chowdan, are you being as inconspicuous as possible?

if so, that sux, i would transport late night

if not, then just carry them 1 by 1 or 2 by 2

unless of course they are small seedlings/clones
then i would try a bag with something ridgid in the bottom

a piece of plywood in the bottom of a duffle?

lampshadehelmet says that they bounce back from being unpotted and laid in a bag, so if that works, and theyre big. you might have to do that.
id worry about stressing my plants a bit over the edge doing that so close to maturity

I do worry about people seeing me but that is partly why i would like to convert a frame pack to a transportation pack so i can say i'm going camping.
