 doctors recommendation question

So i just received my dr.'s recommendation for a mere $53.
i was wondering if it is ok to carry a photocopy of this rather than the original. i do not want to lose it. I figure clubs would prefer the original on the first time entry, but after that its cool.
im more concerned how it works with regards to the police.
any experience?
btw i live in california

I think you have to get a card with the reccomendation, or it best to do so, check out NORML.

Every time you go to the dispensary you should bring:
Cali ID
Original rec
it protects you from the cops (especially if your holding more than an OZ) and most dispensaries wont let you in unless you bring both every visit.
Stick your original rec in a plastic sleeve too so it doesn't get crumpled, ripped or stained.

This right here  The plastic sleeve is a great idea.
