Thinking of doing my first grow. I want to do a strain that is a bit off the beaten path. Does anyone know of a strain that has some unique characteristics?
like very deep purple..
strange color hairs...
excessively sticky..
anything come to mind?

Haze is a pretty unique sativa. A good sample can and will rip your head off.

Mag, out of 100% pure curiosity, is Blockhead available in clone form in NorCal from dispensaries?
Its a thing of legend up here in PNW

There's a strain called Blue Sonja done by Grindhouse Seeds and it's a sativa leaning phenotype of the Blockhead. Very nice, I can't wait to run 3+ packs of this and find the ultimate keeper.

yah, as far as I can tell you can't get blockhead via seeds anymore? I've been searching for that one for a long time now and haven't had any luck.

Cannacopia seem to either be stalling on their blockhead project or have some kind of problem with their 150 old seeds of it that they planed to make F2's out of.
Deluxe seeds are bringing it back out also and they are only ones who seem to be in contact with Breeder Steve (Who is in the wine business now) so they will most likely have the most true version of it. (Not that they seem to be any quicker)

Unless Deluxe seeds is provided with more F1 Blockhead seeds, or has superior clones I don't have any reason to believe knowing Steve will produce better seeds.

It also appears Deluxe seeds will only be producing the Sweet Tooth seeds and then no more SOL gear will be recreated.

I feel it should be at least mentioned to the OP that nothing is guaranteed unless he gets a clone.
If you're growing from seed, theres only a chance it will look like the breeders picture...frequency varies by breeder.

I should do up some S1s of my Blockhead but I hate doing that and selling or even giving away the seeds cause they are from a strain created by a known breeder. I have no problem with it when it comes to the Cali med strains cause nobody really knows where they really came from there are so many stories with each of the strains.
