 My Ps3 has finally fallen

I've had my original 60 gig ps3 bought on the launch date running smoothly with absolutely no issues. Made it through 3 moves and plenty of gaming. It got the YLOD with Black ops still stuck inside... Thankfully a killzone 3 package is coming out so i shall be satisfied soon enough!
A sad day for me.

i just subscribed to playstation plus for 3 months today...got a game i wanted for "free" plus a few other games i wanted. its already paid for itself, im hoping i get a few more freebies out of it before my subscription is up.

Honestly Black ops is a ps3 killer every time I put that game in my PS3 sounded weird  ...Just a crap game I guess
But have same PS3 Never had one problem...if i were you. Id send it in to be repaired IMO if seal is still intact...

Yeah i felt the same way about black ops, and eventually it just did it to me.. and yes my seal is still intact, but with the killzone 3 bundle (I actually need a new controller as well) I would only spend $30 extra to get a new 160 gig slim with a chip that denies YLOD.
Refurbish = 150 + Kz3 60 + Controller 50 @ 260
Kz3 Package = Ps3 Slim 160 gig + Controller + Kz3 @ 299
I'll probably then just sell my old 60 gig with a good history and the warranty seal + black ops 
I may even come out ahead!!

Man... I haven't had a game system since 13 and I had a Sega Genesis. Finally last night, I traded a half O and a vial of some bomb ass THC tincture for a 360, two wireless controllers, and 2 games... now I just have to go get a tv to play it on, and I'll be set!

Games have changed a bit since the genesis, i'm sure your more than aware of that though.

Oh for sure... I just hardly ever play em. I do enjoy gettin' down on some... oh crap, I'm too stoned to remember the name... but like some fps shooters and such... they're hella fun, but I always end up fragged more times than not...

I have an Xbox and I personally like it. Had it for like 3 or 4 years, and have never had a problem with it. Knock on wood.

Y eathe whole xbox rrod thing was fucking rediculous. The consoles where pretty much guaranteed to kill over sooner or later is just fucked up anyone who doesn't agree that that's bullshit that that happens is just a fanboy. Idk what the compensation was for that but if it was anything less than at least fixing the console then that's bullshit.
On a side note, I recently got into gaming again and got an xbox slim because supposedly the rrod problem has been resolved so far no problems with it and have been peru happy with it and prefer it over ps3.
Yea ps3 has advantages such as blu ray and free internet which is really cool. But I never watch bluray and don't mind paying for live especially when I get exclusives like the black ops map pack first.
I also did experience more connection/lag problems on ps3 and less people have headsets ime...
I also like the controllers better on xbox, and xboxes are chapter to buy than ps3.
I do think its rediculous for xbox to come out with a system with only 4gb of internal storage. Thats just a fucking joke, mmy ipod has 120gb and its 1/16 of the size.
So there's definitely advantages to both,and its really all about personal preference. Fanboys fucking poss me offtho

Yeah, the RROD thing was pretty crazy. Didn't Microsoft replace/fix it for free though? I think it was from overheating or something, I dunno. Saw that you mentioned controllers, that's one of the reasons I've never gotten a PS. Never have been a huge fan of the controllers. I don't hate them, but it's just never felt like 100% comfortable in my hand. I don't necessarily hate it, but I just like the Xbox controllers a little better. There are fun games on PS though, for sure. I just got back into gaming again too. Well, I don't know if I'm back into it or whatever, but I just played a new game by myself for the first time in forever. Red Dead Redemption. Played it for like 6 hours 3 nights in a row I usually just play Madden n Tiger Woods n shooting games with friends n shit.

thats soooo funny to me, and just proves theres different strokes for different folks. personally, i could never wrap my mind around the 360 controller. i had mine for about a year and just never got used to it.
idk maybe its because i also have to play with inverted look on? anyone else?
i think its prolly because i grew up with psx and ps2. it just feels natural to me.
which of course doesnt make a difference anymore. theres third party controllers for both systems that are the opposite systems controller. i was gonna get a 360 one for my ps3 since most of my friends i play multiplayer with have a 360.
