Myself I pre-treat them. One of the reasons why I don't post threads like "what do I do about these spider mites" and so on.

Avid and AzaMax
The AzaMax is use as the pre-treat and if anything gets past it out comes the Avid. Plants in flowering are never treated.

I was just at the hydro store and they only had Neem.
Will this protect against bugs and molds? Or do I need to find a better supplier that can provide me with what I need?

Neem isn't really a preventive but more of something you use when you get the bugs.
Now this is my opinion and only my opinion I'm sure but I think neem is one of the most useless things in growing.
