I don't understand why this gets you so heated.
If celebrities don't get in trouble for their crimes, that's the fault of judges, and the system... Who, upon going to trial, would say "You know, I really think you should impose a more strict sentence on me, your honor. I want NO special treatment, I tell you!"
Of course no one would do that. Or at least 99% of folks in their right mind.
Stealing isn't the coolest, especially if you're rich to begin with.
