6.2 - 6.4 peat is very acidic and when it breaks down(which is does over the course of a grow leaving you with a denser medium that also happens to be very acidic esp if your nutrients naturally acidify the mix) this just becomes more of a hazard if you run lower pH. Something I've never really practiced but is likely sound advice is to run all Nitrate N to avoid acidification I don't know how much this matters or if it matters more than feeding with correct pH, but the ammonia variety of N is commonly used to acidify high pH soils.
I'm buying Atami soilless stuff tomorrow, some say better than most of the peat based mixes. I have my doubts since I got an at cost deal because it doesn't move well but that can be for reasons outside quality.
