 Weird Plant Growth. (First Grow)

Hey everybody 
I recently started my first grow about a little over a month ago. In the last few days I discovered that all three of my plants are growing these weird things mostly on the very top of the plant, that look like bud from from away.
However, from closer inspection it is obvious that it is not bud.
Now I did some research, and I have a feeling that it means that all three plants are male. I was under the impression that the plant would'nt show gender until later on in its cycle (only 1 month old). One plant that I have ( ) is only 4 or 5 inches tall, yet it is showing similar aspects as the other plants.
If these are indeed male, is there anything I can use these for besides growing experience?
I appreciate any and all answers, and am looking forward to contributing to this community.

Damn, I was hoping by some miracle that they weren't male. I didn't expect all three to turn up male either. I enjoy watching things grow, especially marijuana, so I'll keep letting them grow for a while longer.

They went into flowering about a week ago. Since they're always outside its obviously not the best time to be growing, but since its almost always warm and sunny I figured I'd give it a try and whatever I get, I get.
This grow was more for experience than anything (even though I was hoping to get some bud of course). I'll learn what I can, and then when spring/summer comes around I can give it a full shot

geez 3 males like that ,well when you get your beauty next time it will be well worth the wait and vary rewarding !
