Hey, I have a few questions about my medical marijuana grow. First i'll give some details about what I'm using, and then I'll ask what I need help with.
I have 8 plants currently, 6 in flower 2 in veg. 4 in flower are 4 weeks old, the other 2 were added in tonight.
Here's details about my setup:
Fox Farms ocean forest
Fox Farms nutrients
Distilled pHed water
3 gallon pots
4x4 grow tent
1000w HPS (upgraded from 600w today)
Cold air intake/hot outtake through carbon filter
I didn't add any perlite to my FF ocean forest soil before using. They don't really have enough, and the plants have been through 2 flushings already due to pH problems, which are corrected now from dolomite lime. The majority of the perlite has risen towards the top of the pots and the soil is not aerated well. I feel like my roots are being choked, they are all showing signs of phosphorus deficiency (and some magnesium) but I follow a strict, acurate feeding schedule with extra supplements as needed (epsom salt). They just don't seem to be drinking right from the roots. I also can't loosen the topsoil much because some roots are exposed at 1 inch below the top. Is there anyway to aerate the soil or decompress it somewhat without doing any harm to the root system?
