Hello all I have been trying to get the real scoop on what size bulb and ballast to buy. My growing area will be 3 feet by 2 feet MAXIMUM. I have been surfing this site as well as others and need to know DO I NEED A 600 watt OR a 400 watt? If you say I need a 600 watt why will it make that big of a difference in yeild and quality? Also will the heat be alot more on a 600 compared to a 400? Thanks very much in advance. I have read so many different posts and every one says get the 600 but does it really make that big of a difference in a 2 x 3 setup????

My room is also 2x3 but is only 5 foot tall. I ran a 400 in it for over a year with great results. Now I have added a 120 watt LED and things are going even better. In a room this small a air cooled hood is needed to control heat.

A 600 would no doubt out preform the 400. But it will also be harder to cool, meaning you'll need a lot of ventilation to keep it under control.
