i want to build a 100- 150 watt hps light with a ballast
i dont have to much money to spend
any ideas or projects i should look at
edit
can i use a lamp like this if its rated for 250 watts can i use a 250 watt hps bulb with it

No, you cannot use that clamp lamp light and an HPS bulb....at ALL!

That's what a 400w HPS (bulb, reflector & ballast) costs over here.

I honestly wouldn't want anything less then 400 for anything. But, it depends on the size of the grow area, not really the number of plants. Like if you have 2 plants in a 4x4 closet, then 150 wouldnt be enough unless you closed it off some. I wouldn't use a 150 in anything more then 2x2 ft area.

its 2 feet by 2 feet
i dont want to slap a 400 watt in there becuaes of the heat
unless a bathroom exhaust fan can handle it
