Does your family know your smoke?

and when did you start smoking? by smoking i mean smoking weed of course.


I started at sixteen I think, and my family kind of knows, almost always unspoken.

Yep, my dad knows, we had a bit of drama about it a couple months back but i think he now understands the whole weed thing.  Now i dont smoke as often as i used to but my dad doesnt really care about it anymore.  Not sure my mom is aware but the rest of my family knows too, i have no problem confronting people that weed isnt the devil and is way safer than alcohol.

My first toke was sometime around high school and probably about 3-4 years ago i started toking nightly and now ive been appreciating being  more clear so i dont smoke as much but still have respect for the herb

My parents used to smoke, not nearly as much as I do but they did, when my mum found me smoking a joint for the first time she wasn't too pissed, but told me she didn't want me to get into it. Now she doesn't care and even has a toke every now and then. I smoke at home whenever I want, and alot of my friends come over to chill and smoke without harassment

Yeah my dad used to smoke and will on occasion. they dont much care. or atleast they dont tell me if they do. they just dont want me to get in trouble with the law

My family came to know about 18 months ago. There wasn't much fuss and it mostly goes unspoken. They have at times got on my case about it but I usually defend marijuana based on how unharmful it is. My mum sometimes gives me the the "it's the law" argument but I don't accept law as an authority that supersedes freedom, and I tell her as much.

Once dad flipped out because I was smoking in the house, which is fair enough so I don't do that anymore. I didn't buy the house after all. and it's good that they respect my choice. I had to work for it though, before me they were as brainwashed as any sucker.

Also, first time was when I was 15 or 16 (like literally on one of those birthdays). My cousin and a couple friends took me to another friends house and got me stoned as hell.

I thought I smoked before that, but I honestly can't remember anytime before that. Regardless my parents didn't find out until about 2 years ago because I refused to smoke at home.

The first time I smoked was ~13, I started regularly at 14 or 15.

My mom knows for sure. She started out hating it, but quickly changed her mind. I guess its just one of those things...she knows I'm going to do it no matter what, so, no big deal. Before she moved out her only rule was "no smoking in the house", which only really applied when she was home.

My aunt knows for sure, I smoke with her maybe once or twice a year. Even when shes not hitting it, if shes driving me to a movie or concert or something because I'm too drunk to drive, I'm usually passing a spliff around her car. Shes cool with it. She asked my uncle if he'd smoke with me, he said yeah but he never has.

My grandma...she prolly knows I do, but would hate to think I do. Shes a real nazi over it...I guess its just because shes old and set in her misinformed ways. My grandfather...eh...he told me where to drive my car if I'm ever out on a high ride, so I guess he knows whats up :lol:

And thats all I've got :shrug:

Edit: Oh, except my cousins. I thought they hated me for years...all this time, it turns out they were just too high to socialize with me :lol: I smoke with them on a regular basis now, and we've become great friends again with the help of good old Mary Jane.

Yes.

They used to do LSD, Speed, lots of Cocaine, Peyote, they sold herb, pretty much all the main drugs at the time...

i think i was 16 the first time i got stoned, and that was from a hash cake that my dad brought home :awehigh: awesome night. i was so happy when my mum let me have it:awesomenod:

parents did acid, tons of coke, sold coke and weed.  parents got some crazy 1970s, 1980s stories man.  starting smoking at 13, smoked a joint with pops at 15, do what i want ftw.  been trying to get my gma off percocet for a while, she's strung out bad, but she just won't smoke weed, i don't get it.  she did once back in the 70s, but she won't do it again for some reason :confused:

My family knows, I've toked with my Brothers and tried to feed my older sister and her friends pot brownies once.

I would enjoy toking up with my little sister, but I don't want to be the one who introduces her to it. I guess I just feel it should be her thing to decide on and I don't want to introduce her to it too early. But the day she comes up to me and tells me that she smokes, I totally would burn one up with her.

i love my family, i just told my folks i smoke weed and they're totally okay with it.

my mum just seemed pleased that i was honest with her.
so now i dont have to sneak around outside to smoke:vaped:

yeah I've smoked with my parents before.  my mom doesn't smoke much but my dad does, and he always has killer weed and is a bit of a weed snob.  my mom was a hippy back in the day and would always tell me how she loved acid but never liked weed.  nowadays she can smoke it occasionally though and enjoy it.

I would tell my parents everything when I was a teenager, I'm a bad liar, so I just never lied. We both found it a good thing, I love annopen relationship with family. They knew I was athirst, I wasn't a virgin, and that I drugs. They were accepting try just weren't fond of my choices.
They suspected I did drugs because I would always give then info about them, like when the dare program would talk shit. 
My dad smoked a couple of times when he was in highsxhool but said it wasn't really that great of an experience. So I haven't smoked with them yet, and my mom has health problems that marijuana would complicate. So hopefully on day incan smoke with with my dad.

She'd say stuff like "where are you going in a blizzard with your friends all bundled up like an eskimo?!" and I'd just say "to get high as fuck and wander around the snowy park because you don't want us to smoke in here. Then maybe ordering a pizza to the woods."

Everyone always thought that was so funny, because I'd just 100% tell her the truth.

yes, 10. that was the first time i smoked. i didn't start smoking regularly until i was 11, almost 12. i smoked heavily for 10 years before taking a year and half long break. now i only smoke occasionally and very little when i do as i have virtually no tolerance now. it's actually a pretty awesome thing, i can take 2 or 3 hits and be blazed out of my mind.

Mom knows and didnt really like it when I was younger but wouldnt do anything about it.
Now she doesnt really care, she used to smoke weed and do a lot of coke back in the day.
My dad knows and fucking hated it when I was younger never really talk about it, hes for legalization though. He's never done a drug in his life and has only drank a small number of times.

My sister knows and hates it and just thinks of me as a stupid pothead, yet she's all for drinking until you pass out :nonono: she's a dumb bitch

Almost everyone close to me knows, I don't feel like having any reason to hide it. My kids are too young to understand if I'm talking something but soon they'll be and I'm not going to try to hide it from them. Don't smoke anyway when I'm with them, as I don't drink alcohol or anything.

My parents are sixtysomething Republican teetotalers who grew up in sober, Christian families in rural Missouri. My dad got drunk like once, threw up and never did it again. My mom, I saw her drink wine sometimes, but it was rare. Neither one has ever tried pot and probably still believes all the old propaganda about it. They know I used to smoke pot, but they think I quit... which I did once or twice, but I came back and don't plan on leaving again.

Of course, I'm grown up and own my own place with my wife, so who gives a fuck what they know and what they don't? On the other hand, if I get a job at a dispensary, I feel like I'd have to tell them then, because there's more of a chance of getting raided/arrested and I wouldn't want it to come as a total shock all at once because they would totally crumble under the stress. I'd let them know beforehand so that by the time something happened, I'd have the whole family's support.
