My children know brazil nuts as brazil nuts. But when i grew up my family in the southeast always called them nigger toes. Now we all know it isnt right but that is what they called them.. Lots of things are or have been different in different areas of the states

Almonds are my favorite with cashews running a close second. Third goes to pistachios.

Same here. My wife and I find it both culturally amusing and repulsive that the name is used so widely. We don't use it around our kids though because we figure its time and place have passed.

Edit: LOL thats what my grandma always called Brazil nuts too. I didn't know what they were until just now when I googled it.

Cashews are best made into cashew butter 
Otherwise I find them to be a bland nut.

I had some peanuts with Jamaican Jerk spice on them. Man, they were fucking awesome, but they owned the shit out of me after only a few. Overwhelming spice, but they were awesome.

Right on, I don't like macadamia unless it's in a baked good
but I LOVE almonds and cashews. Every other nut I've tried is good too.
