I want to run a dedicated line to my grow room for just my lights. I will be using 3 600 watt HPS. What I would like to know is what size wire I should use, maybe 10guage 2 wire? as I want to install a single pole breaker in the fuse box for 110v outlet. And also what size breaker should I install 15,20,or 25 amp?
I would run 10/2 plus ground solid core copper wire with a 25amp breaker because, you will be pulling 15-18 amps and its best to not run a circuit at or withing 75% of its full capacity.
Thank you Amnesiac! I had a pretty good guess about the 10-2 wire/w solid copper core ground, its about a 40ft run from fuse box to room. And now I will always remember about this general rule, having a circuit NOT run at or within 75% of its capacity. I will also be installing a GFI outlet rated for 25 amps. Thank you again man.
