ok
i know this has been threaded and discussed but google and searching the threads have left me unsatisfied so i ask again
not the growing plant but what's in the zip-loc that you just dropped 80 bucks for
what does indica generally look like and what does sativa generally look like?
images appreciated
i think i enjoy indica more, btw
and please forgive me that this isn't an original thread by any means but i want a better understanding and awareness

I'll post some bud pics later for ya, but sativa dominant strains are usually airier and less dense, with more spicier aromas whereas indica dominant strains are (generally) denser with sweeter scent and flavor profiles.
I have some of each floating around here, so I'll post when I get home from work.

Have to smoke it or eat it to know dude. indica = sit and watch the entire lord of the rings saga sativa = might do something productive.

Yeah, I agree that smoking it is the best indicator, but the OP was with regard to visual identification only so my post are the general traits that each side of the gene pool exhibits.

It all looks like very similar bud when you have 40 strains in jars at one counter. This is why I judge by smell and stickiness. I find the best sativa I smoke has a pissy, piney smell like Jack, Trainwreck, NL, but pure indica smells musky and hashy sometimes like spice and herbs. Indica can smell pretty plain compared to the hybirds and super sativas that can smell like anything from grapes to gasoline or oranges. sometimes weed might even look and smell dank but give a weak high. and sometimes it looks and smells like outdoor garbage but has a violently strong high. I'll have to smoke them all to know for sure.
