It really depends on the size of your grow area what kind of light you should get. For 3-4 hempy buckets, I'd say you should at least get a 250watt HID.

I got 5 hempys under a 400w MH in a 2x2 area:

Depends on how big you plan on growing the plants and how big your area is. For 3 or 4 plants I would go ahead and get a 400-600 watt. That way if you decide you want more plants you can pull it off without having to upgrade.

250 is just not enough if you plan on letting four plants veg IMO. But again, it depends on the size of your area and how big the plants are. A little more information would help us answer the question better.

at most its gonna be a 4x4 space and i was thinking because im only doing 4-5 ( new number lol ) would two 4 foot vertical cfl's going in the middle of the 4 plants be good? i heard they give off very little if any heat and would illuminate the entire plant? maybe 2 box fans in an closet with its doors open for air circulation. i want the plants 4-5 foot long

for a 4x4 or 5x5 space I would recommend 600W minimum. 1000W would be best but I can understand if you're hesitant to drop that kind of cash.  But trust me, the 600W with hempy buckets will more than pay for itself.

Hey spency - those plants look good man!

You can buy an air cooled 600w HID setup digital ballast and all for $300 shipped to your door. It doesn't get any better than that. Trust me, it's worth it. You'll thank me later.

I know that may seem pricey, but believe you me, it's actually a really good deal, I remember wanting to do an indoor grow 10 years ago and the prices were closer to double that.
